This site features information about SPAWAR Systems Center-San Diego (SSC-SD) Code 2441 knowledge management and decision support projects. (Click link to see more detail about any project):
An applied research (6.2 funded) project sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) that developed the Knowledge Web (K-Web) and is exploring advanced technologies for collaboration and knowledge transaction. |
An advanced development (6.3 funded) project sponsored by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Knowledge Superiority and Assurance Future Naval Capabilities program (KSA-FNC), and transition of the K-Web to a Navy program of record. |
Augmented Cognition (AugCog) Project SSC-SD is helping DARPA explore the interaction of cognitive, perceptual, neurological, and digital domains to develop improved performance application concepts. The advanced applications will be tailored to military problems in order to demonstrate potential pay-off for operational users. SSC-SD and Pacific Science & Engineering developed the Complex Cognitive Task Battery "Warship Commander" (WCT). The WCT provides a consistent set of cognitive task demands for participants performing the task in any of a number of laboratories, so that the performance characteristics of different algorithms and methods developed to measure cognitive state in the DARPA AugCog program can be compared in a common context |
Tactical Decision Making Under Stress (TADMUS) The Tactical Decision Making Under Stress (TADMUS) program was conducted to apply developments in decision theory and human-system interaction technology to the design of a decision support system for enhancing tactical decision making under the highly complex conditions involved in anti-air warfare in littoral environments. TADMUS developed a philosophy of decision support based on Naturalistic Decision-Making theory, and produced a number of decision support tools. |
During FY 1999, SSC San Diego was selected by U.S. Strategic Command to apply its expertise in Naturalistic Decision-Making theories and Decision Support System (DSS) interface design to development of a DSS for the STRATCOM Command Center as an initial phase of the Strategic C2 Modernization Program. |
